The Airport Restaurant introduced Terengganu Food Festival for the very first time with a range of beautiful Terengganu delicacies “SENYUM SOKMO (Senyum Selalu) from 27th May to 10th June 2013.

This is a joint effort between Tourism Malaysia, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and Royal Brunei Catering which brought this food festival with choices of Terengganu cuisine selections. RBC very own Chef Masri Hassan has prepared three rotation menus which go along with abundance of rice based dishes such as Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kunyit, Nasi Kuning, Nasi Berlauk, Nasi Lemak and Nasi Kerabu. Other than the rice dishes, you may find Sata, Keropok Lekor, Laksam, Gulai Asam Kepala Ikan … and of course not forgetting the desserts like Nekbat, Bronok and Lompat Tikam.

To mark the opening of the food festival, Royal Brunei Catering, hosted a dinner reception on 27 May 2013 at The Airport Restaurant. Attending the evening reception were Puan Jamilah Abd Halim, the Director of Tourism Malaysia and other invited guests. Present to receive the special guests were RBC General Manager (Pengurus Umum), Haji Omar Ali bin Haji Mohd Daud and RBC Management members.

The BRUNEI FOOD FESTIVAL 2012 kicks off tomorrow at the indoor stadium. It’s one of a kind festive that showcases various culinary styles of Asia particulary South East Asian Foods and Beverages to the public.

Organised by Airtimes Media Management, the festival is supported by the Brunei Tourism and the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.  The official media is the Food Guide and Exclusive Media Partner is Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata. The four-day festival will see daily fun and exciting activities for the public.

The festival will feature two concepts, one of which is the “open concept” allowing visitors to tuck into their meals at the food court area provided by us.  The second concept is the air-con tentage. Just to inform the festive promotion is now in progress and one the NEWS promotion will start in May and it will be in Gadong.  The food festival news will be appear at the LCD MEGA TV at the Gadong Junction before entering the Centrepoint areas.

The major crowd puller during the day will be the 1ST FOOD WARRIOR CHALLENGE.  This FOOD WARRIOR CHALLENGE is open to the public,  fun yet exciting food challenge will see the victor walking away with a BND$500 cash prize.

Apart from that, there are daily lucky draws and many more activities held during the festival. So come on down to the Indoor Stadium Berakas and check it out tomorrow onwards!!

Nelayan Night at Rizqun Coffeehouse

Seafood lovers! Its baaack! For the entire month of May, The Rizqun Coffee House is having its awesome Nelayan Night Food Promotion featuring assorted seafood which is displayed on a boat.

On offer are mussels, satak, crabs, prawns, sea bass, red snapper, kurisi, duai, bakulan, rumahan, stingray, squid, and lots more which are procured FRESH DAILY.

All you need to do is choose what you fancy and tell the chef how you want it cooked, e.g. steamed with soy sauce, masak lemak, rebus kuning, mango sauce, buttermilk, and even sambal menangis!

Penang Food Festival at Orchid Garden Hotel

Food lovers are in for a treat as the Goldiana Cafe and Lounge at the Orchid Garden Hotel is currently having a Penang Hawker’s Food Promotion.

Goldiana Café and Lounge has been transformed to a ‘Hawker Style’ layout with seven stalls serving dishes ranging from Nasi Kandar to delicious Laksa and Nasi Lemak including the famous Char Kway Teow. After all, Penang is famously known as the ‘food paradise’ of Malaysia.

F&B Sales and Promotion Executive, Aztie, told the Bulletin that the Penang Hawker’s Food Promotion is one the most “popular” promotions the hotel has to offer.

“Our next and latest promotion will be the Singapore Food Promotion which we are planning to bring after the conclusion of the Penang Hawker’s Food promotion,” she said, adding that the Penang Hawker’s Food Promotion will end on May 12.
