Food Warriors Assemble!


The BRUNEI FOOD FESTIVAL 2012 kicks off tomorrow at the indoor stadium. It’s one of a kind festive that showcases various culinary styles of Asia particulary South East Asian Foods and Beverages to the public.

Organised by Airtimes Media Management, the festival is supported by the Brunei Tourism and the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.  The official media is the Food Guide and Exclusive Media Partner is Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata. The four-day festival will see daily fun and exciting activities for the public.

The festival will feature two concepts, one of which is the “open concept” allowing visitors to tuck into their meals at the food court area provided by us.  The second concept is the air-con tentage. Just to inform the festive promotion is now in progress and one the NEWS promotion will start in May and it will be in Gadong.  The food festival news will be appear at the LCD MEGA TV at the Gadong Junction before entering the Centrepoint areas.

The major crowd puller during the day will be the 1ST FOOD WARRIOR CHALLENGE.  This FOOD WARRIOR CHALLENGE is open to the public,  fun yet exciting food challenge will see the victor walking away with a BND$500 cash prize.

Nelayan Night at Rizqun Coffeehouse


Seafood lovers! Its baaack! For the entire month of May, The Rizqun Coffee House is having its awesome Nelayan Night Food Promotion featuring assorted seafood which is displayed on a boat.

Singapore Food Festival is Back!

The Singapore Food Festival, launched yesterday, is back in Brunei for its fifth year, bringing in popular delicacies from Singapore, and will end March 11.

Launching the ceremony was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hj Mohd Rozan Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yunos, witnessed by the High Commissioner of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, Joseph Koh, at the RBC Restaurant at the Brunei International Airport in Berakas.

Chef Skuter, a well-known celebrity chef from Singapore, was especially flown to Brunei to personally present some authentic Singapore cuisine, including the popular Singapore ponggol chili crab, nyonya popiah, Singapore chicken rice, Singapore mee rebus, mee Siam a la Singapore, Pongteh chicken, Sioh duck, fried meat cincaluk, Geylang rojak and many more.

Lucky draw prizes sponsored by Grand Hyatt Singapore and Singapore Airlines will also be featured during the festival, including a special draw for dine-in guests with prizes such as two return air tickets to Singapore with complimentary three-day two-night accommodation at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Singapore.

Meanwhile, Baiduri cardholders are entitled to a 15 per cent exclusive discount upon presenting their RBC Dining Privilege Card; 10 per cent for RBA Amex Card; and 5 per cent for Gold, Classic and Debit Card.

Rizqun Gongxi Promo


Rizqun Coffee House has announced that it will be hosting a Chinese New Year’s eve dinner menu for those who are looking to welcome the Year of the Dragon with family and friends in style.

For $28 per adult and $14 per child, the special menu will consist of a wider range of appetisers, ranging from the lemongrass glass noodles Chinese beef salad and an assorted of mixed oriental salad, just to name a few.

One will also have a choice of starting off with Chinese-themed soups such as the five treasure soup or wintermelon soup with chicken.

For the main course, you can choose from dishes such as the lotus rice with shiitake mushroom and scallion or those from one of the four stalls set up for the night.

During this festive celebration, the “yee sang” will also be featured on the menu, and which will be intricately designed for patrons to toss high for good luck and prosperity for the new year.

There will also be an “all you can eat” section, which will include beef, lamb, chicken, fish, prawn and vegetarian.

Furthermore, on the Chinese New Year’s day itself, the Mongolian teppanyaki will be specially featured for $20 per adult and $10 per child.

As for dinner, a steamboat meal will be served for only $25 per adult and $12.50 per child.
